Lou Pritchett letter to Obama

Sorry it took so long for me to find this.

The Truth:
Lou Pritchett is the author of this opinion and told TruthorFiction.com that he submitted this to the New York Times under the title of  "Obama, You Scare Me" but they never published it.    Pritchett did say that his article managed to make it to the world wide web where circulation went ballistic.

Pritchett is a former vice president of Procter & Gamble and wrote "Stop Paddling and Start Rocking the Boat" as well as numerous books and periodicals.

A real example of the eRumor as it has appeared on the Internet:

AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA

Dear President Obama,

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me.
You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you. You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support. You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American. You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll. You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core. You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others. You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail. You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the 'blame America' crowd and deliver this message abroad. You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector. You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves. You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world. You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics against certain banks and corporations. You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals. You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people. You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient. You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O'Relllys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view. You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing. Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years. HB477

I sent this message via email to my representatives in the Utah House and Senate as well as the leadership and the bill's author. Could I encourage you to do the same? We don't want our rights- which were granted more than 200 years ago- taken away for a misguided reason. [I didn't include the color or increased size in my email :-)]

I am writing as a constituent/citizen of Utah who is against HB477. This bill is a poor choice of ways to try to accomplish what is purported to be accomplished with this bill. Government has the responsibility to stay transparent in their dealings. This was so important to our Founding Fathers that they included it in the Bill of Rights-the very first Amendment! Don't vote for this bill. It is unconstitutional and will not benefit Utah nor its citizens.

Respectfully,

Jennifer Summers

Update on Integrated Card Services

This is an update--I have called Integrated Card Service another two times and they have yet to return my call. I left a detailed message with a supervisor. Every time I call, I am told that there is no one there in a supervisory position who can take my call. They are always out of the building or not at work today. The last time I called, I told the receptionist that this sounded fishy-that there was not one person who could help me. She told me there wasn't anyone there. What do these people do all day?????

Integrated Card Service

This post is a warning!

Steve and I have a business called Team 1 Performance. We use it to sell our toolboxes and other automotive accessories. We have a website on which we used to accept credit card orders. However, the credit card service was expensive and so Steve asked me to find another one. I looked online and asked for information from several companies. One site gave me pointers on what questions to ask and what some of the terms mean and what the charges mean. So I thought I had chosen one, but when I attempted to sign up they told me that they couldn't serve us. So I did some more calling to verify some information that I had written down and I decided on another provider. Before I signed up with them, Brian Peltel of Integrated Card Service called me. I told him that I had chosen another provider. He wanted to know what their terms were and if I would use his service if he could match their terms. I told him their terms and he said that he could match it. He told me the benefit of using Integrated Card Service was that they were such a big company. He signed me up over the phone and had me enter some information online.

We received our first bill in September and lo and behold, but we were being charged the same amount we had been charged by our previous credit card company. I called them back to find out why. Brian acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. I told him that in that case I wanted to close my account. He said that I couldn't, that I had agreed to a year service contract. After he sensed that I was going to stop using them, he told me that he could offer me those terms that I was talking about for the future. I took notes on this conversation with him and I told him I wanted him to email me a copy of the terms I was agreeing to. I also verified with him twice that the only charges I would be getting each month would be the minimum discount and the statement fee if we had no purchases. He agreed that those would be the only fees. I asked him if there would be any additional charges and he said no. Well, I get the email and it does not resemble at all what we had talked about on the phone. Not only that, but every month I have been charged some "additional fees" that are given no explanation. They state in the bill that if I want detailed information regarding the "additional fees" I would have to call them or go online. This has been happening every month since we began our service with Integrated Card Service.

Last week I tried to call Brian Peltel concerning the issue. As soon as he heard my name and company he hung up on me. So I called back and told the receptionist that I wanted to speak to Brian's supervisor. She explained that he wasn't in-that he had gone home sick. She took a message and told me he would get back to me. At the end of the following day I still hadn't heard from anyone and I called again. The receptionist said that the note was still on his desk and that he should be getting to it soon. I didn't hear from him. I called again today to find out why I have not been called. Again, the supervisor was not in, nor was anyone who could speak to me.

I am just blogging about this to warn anyone else who might be using or might be considering using Integrated Card Service. They are cheating me and lying to me. I don't believe they really care if they get back to me. I am not a huge client so it is easy for them to ignore me, but if you use them, I would suggest checking your statements to make sure that they match the terms that you have agreed to. Chances are that they don't.
